For many practical reasons, electrical power management and process automation have traditionally been designed and operated independently throughout the lifecycle of a plant. Pressure to reduce CAPEX and OPEX costs is driving an initiative to integrate process automation and power management. Strong evidence indicates that integrating electrical management and process automation throughout the lifecycle of a plant offers dramatic benefits.
